There are different types of cholesterol based on the type of fat presents in lipoprotein. As much as we need cholesterol so also having high cholesterol increase the chances of heart attack or stroke.
Cholesterol level can increase as a result of fatty deposit in the blood vessels. Eventually this deposit narrows the artery wall and makes it difficult for the blood to flow. As a result of this the heart may not get sufficient oxygen rich blood as much as it needs which can increase the risk of having heart disease.
Children also can be affected by high cholesterol level which can lead to heart disease earlier in life. Earlier discovery of this condition and ability for change of diet, lifestyle and exercise can reverse the case and give your child a healthy heart.

LARGE WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE: You stand the risk of high cholesterol as a man with waist circumference of at least 40 inches or 102 centimeter or a woman with a waist circumference of at least 35 inches or 89 centimeter.
POOR DIET: Foods that are high in cholesterol such as full fat dairy products or red meat will increase the risk of having high cholesterol jevel. Support your body with alkaline foods such as vegetables and fruits.
LACK OF EXERCISE: Regular exercise helps boost your body high- density lipoprotein (HDL) which is good cholesterol and lowering your low- density lipoprotein (LDL) bad cholesterol. Regular exercise keeps your heart healthy while lack of exercise increases the risk of heart disease.
DIABETES: High sugar level damage the lining of your arteries and contribute to the increase in low- density lipoprotein (LDL) lowering your high-density lipoprotein.

COMPLICATIONS
High cholesterol can lead to a dangerous accumulation of cholesterol and other deposits on the wall of arteries; create blockage of blood flow, this situation is called atherosclerosis and can cause complications such as Chest pain, heart attack, or stroke.
Change in lifestyle is first prerequisite for managing your cholesterol level. Healthy eating habit would keep your cholesterol level safe. Regular exercise is needed to keep your body healthy at least walk for 30mins three times a week. This will help your heart to function properly. Medication is the last option to correct cholesterol level and maintain healthy heart. After you’ve observed the suggested precaution against high cholesterol such as change of lifestyle, healthy eating, regular exercises and your cholesterol level still high quickly visit your health care officer for further help.
